Being a huge fan of old folk tales and fantasy, creating illustrations for this project was a pleasure. From the many fascinating folk tales I picked the one about Leshy, and the ghost of a dog. I reimagined the monster Leshy in a modern way, painting him as a mystery and a forest protector who is almost invisible to the human eye.
The second story was a sad tale about a dog that had to watch over a bridge in the forest, so I had him wandering endlessly through the snow covered trees.
This project was a dream come true. Krainy Polskie has never used illustrations before, and I got to be their first featured artist! I can't wait to create more for this amazing publication.
